9:00am – 10:00am — Welcome and Keynote – Creating Community Immunity: Self-Care for Care Managers
COVID-19 is more than a pandemic–it is an opportunity for all of us to experience crisis and opportunity, joy and sorrow, and to re-evaluate our care for ourselves and others. Join Dr. Sabrina for a beginning (or continued) conversation about you–the competent helping professional serving humanity in one of its darkest hours. Together, we will explore: the unique gifts that you bring to your work, the challenges that you face in providing competent care, and the opportunities for preserving and caring for the most precious commodity of this work—yourself.
At the end of our time together, you will leave with an increased ability to nurture yourself and others, learn to practice the “sacred pause”, and re-commit to your life as a healer, human, and member of a community that is faced with the dual realities of thriving and suffering.

8:50- 9:30am — Keynote: Self-Care in the New Normal
The world around us has changed and continues to change. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, economic turmoil, climate change, and the effects of systemic racism on black and brown communities, one thing we can be certain of is that we must learn to deal with uncertainty in our personal and professional lives. This means that it is more important than ever that we take care of ourselves – engage in effective self-care – in order to be present and available for our loved ones and for the people with whom we work and who we serve. This talk will focus on strategies for self-care in the new normal.
